Pupil Premium Grant (and Recovery Premium) - Overview 2023-2024

The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) is additional funding allocated to schools to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities to enable them to reach their potential and also to support children and young people with parents in the regular armed forces.

Pupil Premium Grant Funding for 2023-2024

In the 2023 to 2024 financial year, the following per-pupil rates apply for eligible pupils;

Disadvantaged Pupils

  • £1,455 for pupils in Reception to Year 6 who are eligible for free school meals (FSM) or who have been recorded as eligible in the past 6 years (FSM Ever 6)
  • £2,530 for Looked-After Children (LAC) – those in the care of, or provided with accommodation by, an English Local Authority.
  • £2,530 for children previously looked after by a Local Authority or other state care.

Service Children

  • £335 for pupils if they meet one or more of the following criteria:
    • Pupils who have parents serving in the regular armed forces, including pupils with a parent who is on full commitment as part of the full-time reserve service - this includes pupils with a parent who is in the armed forces of another nation and is stationed in England
    • Pupils who have been registered as a ‘service child’ on any school census in the past 6 years
    • Pupils wh o have a parent who has died while serving in the armed forces and the pupil receives a pension under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme or the War Pensions Scheme

For the financial year 2023-2024, Oxclose Primary Academy is estimated to receive £125,050 Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) funding. This is based on 100 pupils (51%).

The Recovery Premium is additional funding that has been allocated to school in 2023-2024, to support disadvantaged pupils with their education recovery (following the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic).

For the financial year 2023-2024, Oxclose Primary Academy is estimated to receive £15,950 Recovery Premium funding.
